Writer's Block: Swine Times

Are you worried about catching the swine flu? Do you have a plan for avoiding contagion or dealing with quarantine?

Honestly, I believe that this "epidemic" is going to be about as bad as the "bird flu" of a few years ago was. Everytime some new form of a disease rears its head, our nation goes nuts trying to figure out how to stop it. Has no one ever considered that we may be causing this?  Each drug that we use, every virus that we slow, just turns out to be gaining strength and coming at us from another direction. The thought that one day we will have all of the answers and everyone will live in perfect harmony with nature is utterly preposterous!

In other words:  YES, bad things like "swine flu" will happen. And YES, people will die. BUT, our world will go on, and there's nothing we can do about it.

So, GET OVER IT!  Go outside, enjoy the fresh air, and forget that a killer virus may be lurking right outside your door. If you're meant to die, it will happen. Just enjoy life!
